Repair procedures

Removal

1.	Disconnect the negative battery terminal.

2.	Remove the crash pad lower panel. (Refer to Body - "Crash Pad Lower Panel")

3.	Remove the steering column upper and lower shrouds. (Refer to Body - "Steering Column Shroud Panel")

Remove the electronic steering column lock (A) by loosening the mounting bolts after disconnecting the connector (B).

Tightening torque : 6.9 - 12.8 N·m (0.7 - 1.3 kgf·m, 5.0 - 9.4 lb·ft)

Installation

Install in the reverse order of removal.

•	The existing shear bolts must be replaced with a new one. (Do not reuse it.)

•	Tighten the shear bolts until its head is cut off.
