Repair procedures

Removal
1.

Disconnect the (-) battery terminal.

2.

Remove the rear wheel and tire.

(Refer to Tires/Wheels - "Wheel")

3.

Loosen the bolt and nut and then remove the rear assist arm (A).

  

To remove the bolt, install the transmission jack under the lower arm and remove it under no load.

Before removing the rear assist arm, mark the position and direction of the bolt and washer before changing.

Tightening torque

Rear carrier : 137.3 - 156.9 N.m (14.0 - 16.0 kgf.m, 101.3 - 115.7 lb-ft)

Rear sub frame : 107.8 - 117.6 N.m (11.0 - 12.0 kgf.m, 79.5 - 86.8 lb-ft)

Inspection
1.

Check the bushing for wear and deterioration.

2.

Check the rear assist arm for deformation.

3.

Check for all bolts and nuts.

Installation
1.

Install in the reverse order of removal.

2.

Check the alignment.
