Repair procedures

When removing with a flat-tip screwdriver or remover, wrap protective tape around the tools to prevent damage to components.

Put on gloves to prevent hand injuries.

1.

Remove the rear door module.

(Refer to Rear Door - "Rear Door Module")

2.

Remove the rear door outside handle.

(Refer to Rear Door - "Rear Door Outside Handle")

3.

Loosen the rear door outside handle base mounting bolt (A).

Tightening torque :

4.9 - 5.9 N·m (0.4 - 0.6 kgf·m, 2.9 - 4.3 lb·ft, 34.7 - 52.1 lb·in)

4.

Loosen the rear door latch mounting screws (A).

Tightening torque :

6.9 - 10.8 N·m (0.7 - 1.1 kgf·m, 5.0 - 8.0 lb·ft, 60.8 - 95.5 lb·in)

5.

Remove the rear door latch assembly (A).

6.

Open the cover to remove the rear door outside handle base by pressing the locking pin (A).

7.

Loosen the load (A) and remove the rear door outside handle base.

8.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.

  

Make sure the connector is connected properly.

Make sure the door locks / unlocks and opens / closes properly.

Replace any damaged clips (or pin-type retainers).
